Alex Bond is a freelance illustrator and concept artist in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her splendid knowledge of people, creatures, and history; as well as her passion, collaborative nature, and mad research skills are assets on any projects. She comes from a traditional Illustration and Fine Art background, and once introduced to ZBrush, she immediately saw the program as a powerful medium for creating fantastical creatures and worlds.
She earned her Psychology BA at Reed College where she studied role-play games, history, and group dynamics. Upon graduation she assisted research at the University of Michigan and Stanford, where she coordinated large multi-year team projects, worked with a variety of people, and honed her research skills before deciding it was a lot more fun to draw cool things for the entertainment industry herself. Her decision drove her to level up her art skills under the excellent instruction of mentors at AAU.
Alex is passionate about digital art and story-telling. She is an imaginative realist, lending a unique perspective to her career as a Concept Artist and Illustrator. In her spare time she takes jaunts out of the studio to practice traditional plein air painting.
